To celebrate 30 years of Nike’s revolutionary Air Max, UNIT9 defaced the Pompidou in style to celebrate Air Max Day.
Using the Paris modern art museum as a screen, they made the first-ever projection mapping on the 180m facade of the Pompidou Centre. Bringing together illustrators, 3D artists, animators and motion graphics specialists, we developed a library of GIF assets – tapping into the language of a digital audience – to tell the story of the revolution and evolution of the iconic Air Max – alongside internet visual history.
Working with Nike and UNIT9, Simon created a 6 minute immersive sound design piece, mixing interview recordings with Tinker Hatfield, designer of the Air Max with contemporary music tracks and a custom sound design.
